The Work of
Knowing Yourself
and Who You Are Becoming.

Self-knowledge is not a soft skill. It is the foundation of every meaningful decision, every authentic transition, and every life built on purpose rather than accident.

About Philicia

I coach to your highest self.

"How do people come to know themselves — and what becomes possible when they do?"

That question led Philicia from Barnard College to Harvard, into school leadership as a principal, and then on to Columbia Business School and investment banking at Morgan Stanley. It is an unconventional path, and at each turn, she relied on deep inner work and the power of storytelling to redefine her identity and move forward with clarity and purpose.

She created these programs so others can navigate their own transitions with greater clarity, courage, and intention as they write their unique story.

Why This Program Exists

"I studied Psychology & Economics at Barnard College, drawn from the beginning to one central question: how do people come to know themselves, and what becomes possible when they do? That question guided every chapter — from teaching, to Harvard, to school leadership, to Columbia Business School, and ultimately to investment banking at Morgan Stanley."

I developed this program so participants have a place entirely their own — to develop self-awareness and clarity about who they are and who they're becoming.

For Anyone in the Middle of a Shift

Every Transition
Is an Identity Story

Career pivots. Life changes. New chapters. The outer move only works when the inner work has been done.

Whether you are stepping into a new role, leaving one behind, navigating a personal crossroads, or simply sensing that who you've been no longer fits who you're becoming — this work is for you. Storytelling and identity shifting are at the heart of every meaningful transition. Philicia is here to support yours.

The Foundation

What Makes a Transition Actually Work

Most people approach transitions as logistical problems — update the resume, network differently, change the title. But the transitions that truly land are the ones where the person doing the moving has done the inner work first. They've gotten clear on who they are, rewritten the story they tell about themselves, and stepped into the next chapter from a place of genuine identity — not performance.

"None of my transitions were accidental. At each stage, I used storytelling not simply as a communication tool, but as a way of reshaping identity — grounded in deep inner work and a clear sense of who I was becoming."

Philicia has lived this — from Teach for America to Harvard, from school leadership to Columbia Business School, from education to investment banking at Morgan Stanley. Each move required not just strategy, but a deliberate reauthoring of her story. That is the work she now does with clients.

Three Pillars of the Work
01 · Storytelling

The Story You Tell About Yourself

The narrative you carry about who you are shapes every decision, every room you walk into, every opportunity you reach for or pass by. We find the story that is actually true — and learn to tell it with clarity and conviction.

02 · Identity

Who You Are Becoming

Identity is not fixed. It is actively shaped — by the choices you make, the language you use, the version of yourself you decide to inhabit. This work helps you step into the next version of yourself before the world confirms it.

03 · Transition

The Space Between Chapters

Transitions are not just moments of change — they are defining periods. How you navigate them determines not just where you land, but who you are when you arrive. This work makes the in-between purposeful.

Areas of Support

Career & Personal Transitions

The work looks different depending on where you are — but the core is always the same: clarity about who you are, a story that reflects it, and a plan to move forward from that truth.

Career Transition

Changing Roles or Industries

Moving from one field to another, stepping into leadership for the first time, or re-entering the workforce after a pause. We clarify your transferable identity — not just your transferable skills — and build the story that gets you in the right rooms.

Career Transition

Reinvention & Next Chapter

You've built something — and now you want to build something different. This work is for the person who knows they've outgrown what they're doing and is ready to define, clearly and confidently, what comes next.

Personal Transition

Life Crossroads & Identity Shifts

Major life changes — relationship shifts, relocations, losses, new beginnings — often force a reckoning with who you are. This work holds space for that reckoning and helps you move through it with intention and clarity.

Personal Transition

Stepping Into a Bigger Version of Yourself

Sometimes the transition isn't prompted by an external event — it's a quiet knowing that you've been playing small. This work is for the person ready to stop waiting for permission and start living from who they actually are.

How the Work Unfolds

The Coaching Process

Every engagement begins with a conversation. From there, the work is entirely personalized — shaped around where you are, where you want to go, and the story that will carry you there.

01 · The Beginning

Deep Intake Conversation

We start by understanding who you are, where you've been, and where you're trying to go. This is not a surface-level intake — it is the foundation of everything that follows.

02 · The Core Work

Personalized Coaching Sessions

Private 1-on-1 sessions built around your transition — drawing on storytelling, identity work, and practical strategy to move you from where you are to where you want to be.

03 · The Deliverable

A Customized Plan to Execute

You leave with more than clarity — you leave with a concrete plan. A roadmap for the transition, a refined narrative, and the tools to move forward with intention.

Who This Is For

You May Be Ready If You Recognize This

This work is for anyone in the middle of a shift — or sensing one coming — who wants to move through it with purpose rather than chance.

You've achieved what you set out to and it no longer feels like enough

A life change has left you questioning who you are outside of a role or relationship

You're stepping into leadership and want to inhabit it — not just perform it

You know who you're becoming and need support making it real

You want someone who has navigated major transitions themselves — and can guide yours

Ready to begin your transition?

Transitional Coaching is offered by inquiry. Every engagement is personalized to where you are and where you are going.

The Question

One Question Has Guided Everything.

How do people come to know themselves — and what becomes possible when they do?

That question has been the throughline of every chapter of Philicia's life. It drew her to Psychology and Economics at Barnard College. It shaped her years as a classroom teacher, where she delivered measurable academic acceleration — students achieving 1.6× expected growth — not through compliance, but through helping young people understand who they were and what they were capable of.

It took her to the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she deepened her understanding of how people learn and grow. And it eventually led her somewhere unexpected: Columbia Business School, and then to investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

"None of those transitions were accidental. At each stage, I used storytelling not simply as a communication tool, but as a way of reshaping identity — grounded in deep inner work and a clear sense of who I was becoming."

What Philicia discovered across every one of those transitions is that the outer move only holds when the inner work has been done first — when you are honest about who you are, reauthor the story you carry, and step deliberately into the next version of who you're becoming. This is the work she now does with others.

The Coaching Philosophy

I Coach to Your Highest Self.

Not a polished version of who you think you should be. Not the person who checks the right boxes or performs well for an audience. Your highest self — the vision you hold for your own life when you are being completely honest about what you want and who you are. That is the person Philicia coaches toward.

Every session, every curriculum choice, every question she asks is pointed at closing the gap between who you are right now and who you know — at your clearest, your most grounded — that you are becoming.

The tools are storytelling and identity work. The belief underneath it all is simple: self-knowledge is not a soft skill. It is the most practical, most transferable, most durable advantage any person can build.

When you know who you are, every decision gets clearer. Every transition gets more intentional. Every room you walk into, you walk in as yourself — not a performance of yourself.
